Hi-5 Talk Time Cafe urges people to help them keep their ‘home’

A planning application has been submitted for the demolition of an existing building and erection of two dwellings with all matters reserved  at Bangors Methodist Church, Vicarage Lane, Poundstock, Bude, Cornwall, EX23 0AU.

So far, five public comments have been added, all objections. Most suggest there is a greater need for an accessible parish hall than housing. Currently, Hi-5 Talk Time Cafe uses the building for its work with families of children with additional needs.

Hi-5 members say:

If planning application number PA21/00256  is approved we will lose our café’s home, which has so much potential for future growth. We have plans to STAY … YOU can help us to do that!

Hi-5 Talk Time Cafe is established at the former Bangors Methodist Church, Poundstock, and wishes to continue there and develop its outreach. There is already a draft business plan and negotiations for the support of the National Lottery for 5-years, currently on hold due to COVID-19. A long-term lease is envisaged.

Hi-5 wishes to continue to use and develop the Church room for the Café and indoor Play, the small adjoining room for the Sensory Room, the garden for outdoor activities including the proposed Sensory Garden and Play area.
