Have your say on parking and speed limit changes in and around Bude now

I would like to highlight an opportunity for the local community to have their say on street parking and speed limited changes in the Bude area. 

 

Cornwall Council is inviting comments on proposals to introduce waiting, parking, speed and width restrictions on various roads within Bude Community Network Area. The public have until 09/12/2021 to reply. The details are here.

There are a lot of changes. Most of the changes are around roads affected by visitor parking, and along the A39. If you live in town yourself or park regularly in town then I would strongly suggest you review the changes and submit your feedback ( both in support and objections) to either:

AECOM working alongside Cormac Solutions Ltd on behalf of Cornwall Council is inviting comments on proposals to introduce waiting, parking, speed and width restrictions on various roads within Bude Community Network Area. These proposals have been formulated following discussions with the community network panel and relevant Cornwall Councillors.
Details of the schemes are as follows:

Breakwater Road

Proposed seasonal on-street parking restrictions to facilitate the parking of motor vehicles
and motor bikes only between the hours of 8pm – 6am from 1st March until 31st October.
This is to prevent camper vans and larger vehicles from parking overnight. Refer to Site
Notice EDG1798_01 for details.

Downs View

Proposed seasonal on-street parking restrictions to facilitate the parking of motor vehicles
and motor bikes only between the hours of 8pm – 6am from 1st March until 31st October.
This is to prevent camper vans and larger vehicles from parking overnight. Refer to Site
Notice EDG1798_02 for details.

Crooklets Road

Proposed on-street parking restrictions to facilitate the parking of motor vehicles and
motor bikes only between the hours of 8pm – 6am. This is to prevent camper vans and
larger vehicles from parking overnight. These proposals will also include no waiting at any
time restrictions to prevent obstructive parking. Both restrictions are to be all year round.

Access to Houses Rear of Summerleaze Crescent

Proposed no waiting at any time restrictions all year round to address issues with access
to properties and prevent obstructive parking. Refer to Site Notice EDG1798_04 for
details.

A39 Binhamy Road

Proposed extension of the existing 30mph speed limit and proposed 40mph speed limit
to reduce speed and improve road safety prior to the new development on Wigeon Road.
Refer to Site Notice EDG1798_05 for details.

Poundfield Lane

Proposed no waiting at any time restrictions all year round to address visibility issues at
its junction with A3072 Hospital Road. Refer to Site Notice EDG1798_06 for details.

Cot Hill

Proposed 2.8 metre width restriction to prohibit vehicles travelling along the road which
exceed the minimum width. These proposals will also include no waiting at any time
restrictions to prevent obstructive parking. Both restrictions are to be all year round.

Crackington Haven

Proposed no waiting at any time restriction all year round to replace the existing seasonal
daytime no waiting restrictions to prevent obstructive parking. Refer to Site Notice
EDG1798_08 for details.

Penhalt View

Proposed on-street parking restrictions to facilitate the parking of motor vehicles and
motor bikes only between the hours of 8pm – 6am all year round on the existing lay by.
This is to prevent camper vans and larger vehicles from parking overnight. Refer to Site
Notice EDG1798_09 for details.

Stibb

Proposed extension of the existing 30mph speed limit east of the new development at
Bryder Farm to reduce speeds and improve road safety. Refer to Site Notice EDG1798_10
for details.

Week St Mary

Proposed extension of the existing 30mph speed limit south of the new development at
The Old Garage to reduce speeds and improve road safety. Refer to Site Notice
EDG1798_11 for details.

Road from Morwenna Road to Woodville Road

Proposed 40mph speed limit between Woodford and Shop to reduce speeds and improve
road safety. Refer to Site Notice EDG1798_12 for details.

Woodville Road

Proposed 40mph speed limit in Woodford to reduce speeds and improve road safety.
Refer to Site Notice EDG1798_13 for details.

Stamford Hill

Proposed extension of 30mph speed limit north of the existing speed limit to reduce
speeds and improve road safety. Refer to Site Notice EDG1798_14 for details.

Summerleaze Crescent

Proposed on-street parking restrictions to facilitate the parking of motor vehicles and
motor bikes only between the hours of 8pm – 6am all year round. This is to prevent
camper vans and larger vehicles from parking overnight. These proposals will also include
no waiting at any time restrictions to prevent obstructive parking. Refer to Site Notice
