Graffiti at Budehaven – and it’s not what you think!

By Jack Gibbons:

‘’16 strings, 8 dancing feet and 4 voices with 1 aim: to make classical music wickedly funny and fantastically exhilarating. Graffiti Classics bursts the elitist boundaries of the traditional String Quartet with its hilarious all-singing, all-dancing musical comedy cabaret show.’’

We were very fortunate to welcome the Graffiti Classics string quartet to our school this term, who took their incredible comedy show and applied it in an educational workshop style for our Budehaven students. Students from across all ages of the school were treated to an educational show that brought classical music to life with entertaining, inspiring and engaging performances and discussions.

This concert was particularly beneficial and inspiring for our GCSE and A Level students who were able to hear a string quartet close up, some for the first time. Students were given the opportunity to ask questions ranging from what life is like as a professional musician, practice routines and approaches to music in general.
