Wednesday 21st March was a special evening in the north of the county when 165 children from primary and secondary schools  gathered at Budehaven School for a Global Arts concert.

Music from 15 countries across the world was performed that evening to a 300 strong audience and fellow musicians. The music was diverse and colourful and included Gamelan, Indian, African, American music as well as Eastern European and of course, Cornish.

The ensembles involved were: Budehaven’s steelpan group-Steel Haven, Budehaven Voices, Year 10 music group, Year 7 African drumming group, Year 10 GCSE Gamelan, Bude Junior Choir, Bude Junior First Access violins, Marhamchurch Next Steps and Triggshire Wind Orchestra.

Refreshments were provided by ‘Friends of Budehaven’ and the whole evening had a real sense of celebration and a joy of making and performing music together.
