Bude Library Literary Festival 2020

Plans are being held to hold a Literary Festival next year, probably early October. Events and speakers welcome to make contact via the above email. It takes a long time to build an Appledore or North Cornwall Book Fest but this is brilliant news for anyone who reads or is interested in literature!

  • I am interested to hear about the Bude Literary festival 2020 and would be keen to take part. I have a book being published in June 2020 by Pen & Sword: “Children at Sea, Lives Shaped by the Waves”. As the title implies, it has a strong maritime connection and there is also much Cornish content. I am myself from the West Country and my forbears (who appear in the book) came from The Isles of Scilly, where my great, great grandfather kept the St Agnes Lighthouse. I know Bude very well as my husband, Piers Brendon, was born there and my brother-i-law, Rupert Brendon, and his wife Christine run the family hotel, the Falcon.
Please let me know if there is any way in which i can become involved in this exciting venture.

    • Thank you Vyvyen, and good luck with publication of your book. Sounds great. In the first instance, it makes sense to contact Mark Berridge, Manager at The Castle, who will presumably be co-ordinating the event. If not, I’m sure he can signpost you to the right person.
