From sea glass to woven wall hangings: 2 local makers to support

Well, it is not many weeks to Christmas, and it is hoped that more people will shop local this year. Local shops and makers have been there for everyone throughout lockdowns and it is good to help them in return. I asked businesses to contact me and so far have had two responses, so they get some free coverage for their efforts.

Check out Louise Larcombe, who is a sea glass artist living and working in Bude. She makes art, cards and jewellery from handpicked sea glass on Cornish beaches. Her business is called Cornish Sea Gems, which you will find here.

These are normally £15 each but are £10 each until 10pm on Sunday 14th. She can also design to order.

Additionally, check out the work of Fliss James from Stratton. She says: I’m a Stratton girl and my business is The Cornish Weaveress. I sell woven wall hangings on Etsy, although I can deliver locally, or arrange collection. I absolutely love weaving, I find it so relaxing as a creative outlet. North Cornwall inspires my work greatly, and you will often see nature themes running through my work. Here are some examples of my work.I try to update my shop at the end of every month but between now and Christmas I’ll just upload when I have something new. My shop link is here. I am @the_cornish_weaveress on Etsy and The Cornish Weaveress on Facebook.
