I went shopping in Bude today and it was waterlogged, as is everywhere. The Upper River Tamar remains on flood alert.
Flooding is possible on Saturday afternoon leading into Sunday morning. River levels remain high and the ground is saturated following rain over the last few days.
A band of heavy rain is forecast on Saturday afternoon which may lead to flooding of low lying land and roads on Saturday and Sunday.
A further band of rain is forecast to move across the region on Monday afternoon.
Areas at risk include communities along the Upper River Tamar and tributaries. Take care near the areas of concern and be aware of your local weather conditions. Avoid walking and driving through floodwater.
On the upside, isn’t today the shortest day? Soon, it very slowly begins to get lighter!
