There is a flood alert for the upper River Tamar.
Flooding is possible this evening, Thursday 28th October, and into Friday due to persistent and heavy rainfall crossing the area.
Following unsettled weather over the past week, catchments are saturated and rivers are likely to respond quickly to the forecast rainfall.
Widespread rainfall totals of 20-30 mm are expected. Intense rain could result in totals of up to 50 mm, increasing to 70 mm over high ground.
The most persistent rain is expected to ease during Friday before further outbreaks of rain spread in from the west during the evening and into Saturday.
River levels are likely to remain high during this time. Take care near the areas of concern and monitor your local weather conditions.
