Flood alert – Upper River Tamar

We have been lucky down here compared to many parts of the country, but there is a flood alert for the Upper River Tamar area.

River levels have risen in response to today’s rainfall. Further rain is forecast throughout this evening and overnight tonight and rivers will remain high. This may lead to flooding of low lying land.

Please take care near the areas of concern and monitor your local weather conditions.

Meanwhile, elsewhere there are flood warnings such as in the Midlands, Welsh borders and South Yorkshire/Lincolnshire. Environment Agency teams, assisted by the military and emergency services, continue to work 24/7 to reduce the water levels in flood-hit communities, including Fishlake (which has hit the news) and will help prepare them for further possible flood impact.
