Flood alerts are currently in force along the North Cornwall Coast from The Rumps to Hartland Point. Bude, however, is excluded. This means:
Flooding is possible along the coast over the morning high tide of Friday 8th February.
High water at Padstow is at 7:16 am, but times of high water will vary along the coast, with Ilfracombe at 8 am.
Strong Force 7 south-southwesterly winds and offshore wave heights of up to 5.0m are forecast, which may cause wave overtopping of sea defences and sea spray in exposed coastal locations.
Quay edges and low lying car parks and roads are likely to be affected.
Tides may be up to 400mm higher than predicted due to weather conditions.
People are advised to stay away from risk areas and take care next to the coast.
Bear in mind that the recent heavy rain is also making the ground soft so cliff edges might also be best avoided.
