One fire appliance from Holsworthy was mobilised to reports of a chimney fire at a property in Bridgerule at 8.17 yesterday.
On arrival, crews confirmed one chimney fire involving one solid fuel Aga.
Fire crews used chimney gear, a triple extension ladder and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. Crews also used the thermal imaging camera to investigate any heat spread before leaving the scene.
In a separate incident at 01.46 in North Road, Holsworthy yesterday, one appliance from Holsworthy and Hatherleigh with the Environmental Protection Unit and supporting appliance from North Tawton were mobilised following a report to the Fire Service Control Room of a strong smell of gas and cylinders possibly leaking at the above location.
On arrival at the scene crew confirmed a small amount of gas leaking from LPG cylinders within a chained compound.
Access to the locked area was gained and the gas cylinder isolated. The gas was allowed to disperse naturally.
Meanwhile, also in the Holsworthy area, near Burnards House, at 9.25, two appliances from Bude and an appliance from Holsworthy attended a farm incident. On arrival, the crews found a telehandler well alight inside a barn. Teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two high pressure hose reel jets at the scene to extinguish the fire, crews used the thermal imaging camera to monitor the area while the crew cooled the telehandler down and removed it from the barn. The cause was accidental.
