Cornwall Fire Service received a 2 am 999 call this morning, stating that a derelict building could be seen on fire from the A39 at Valley Truckle, south of Camelford.
Appliances were mobilised from Wadebridge and Delabole, joined by one from Bodmin.
Firefighters confirmed two tractors were well alight, surrounded by large quantities of wood and pallets, with a fire approx. 10 metres by 3 metres and 2.4 metres high. The Water Carrier from Liskeard and an appliance from Launceston were later also mobilised, as firefighters were trying to stop the spread to an adjacent barn, while strong winds fanned the fire.
Earlier yesterday evening, a crew was mobilised to reports of a fire in the open along the Camel Trail. The incident was located and advice was given.
