Improving lives: what we need to know and, importantly, what to do
Our kids are taught to work out the area of a triangle, the radius of a circle and are even expected to know what a adverbial and coordinating conjunction are by the age of 11!. They’re not taught some of the simple foundation stones that support positive wellbeing. This is ironic when such methods have been shown to improve learning and memory, in addition to a whole host of other outcomes.
Without this knowledge we’re more prone to anxiety, depression and a whole host of other difficulties. We might walk along a beautiful beach and be unable to connect with it. We might be unable to connect with others and even disconnect from ourselves We want to change this and, thankfully, it’s never too late to learn and apply some simple, life changing, ideas.
Come along to The Hub at the Sea Pool for a presentation and discussion with Dr Mary Welford, Consultant Clinical Psychologist. Mary is a therapist, international trainer and author.
