From Emily Pinn:
In April I will be going on a once in a life time two week trip to Ghana with the well-established organisation Projects Abroad.
On this trip I will be working in a day care centre to help care for and improve the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged children, and tracking their progress in different areas on a global impact database.
This will be a truly life changing experience for me, someone who has never left Bude for more than a week, and it would be an amazing opportunity to broaden my knowledge around the importance of early education, as well as helping these children to have a better and brighter future.
The total cost of the trip will be approximately £2300, which includes accommodation with a host family, three meals a day, flights, insurance, visas, vaccinations, kit and resources that I will need to take with me, such as mosquito nets and educational material for the children that I will be looking after.
I am planning to contribute at least £600 of my own money towards this fee, and am extremely grateful to have been granted £600 from The Blanchminster Trust.
This leaves around £1100 left, most of which I am hoping to raise via this page and various fundraising events that I am planning.
I would be extremely grateful for any donation that you would be able to make.
