We’ve introduced David and Ray. Now meet Alex, the Conservative Party candidate.
My name is Alex Dart, I’m 21 years old and I would like to be the next Cornwall Councillor for Bude. I have lived in Cornwall all my life, with a brief time in Kent where I read politics at university, and volunteered in the office of our local MP Scott Mann.
I am young, enthusiastic and committed, all attributes which I feel can work to fight for the interests of the people of Bude. I will be out and about over the next few weeks talking to local people, and listening to their concerns. If you see me please do come and speak. I am passionate about the environment and one of my main priorities, if elected to represent the people of Bude, would be to continue to work with Scott Mann to improve bathing water quality. I think this is a hugely important issue and we should fight to keep our beautiful beaches clean for all to enjoy.
With recent revelations that much of the material we recycle at home is not being properly processed and recycled, it is also very important to me that we ensure that these materials are processed in a sustainable way. So, if elected, I will push to ensure that everything we put out to be recycled actually is, and doesn’t just end up in a landfill.
Bude has long been ignored by Cornwall County Council, with decisions made far away which often have an adverse effect on the area. If elected, I will fight to ensure that the voice of the people of Bude can no longer be ignored, and so that the area can see tangible and positive change.
