Eight people charged with drug and modern slavery offences in Cornwall and London

Following a series of warrants carried out in Cornwall and London, eight people have now been charged with a series of drug-related and modern slavery act offences.

On Wednesday 27 February 2019, warrants were carried out addresses in the London boroughs of Haringey, Lewisham and Hackney, as well as in Bodmin, St Austell and Newquay, Cornwall, as part of ongoing work to disrupt county lines.

As a result of these warrants, eight people have been charged.

Three people were charged on Tuesday 26 March 2019 and have been bailed to appear at Bodmin Magistrates Court on Thursday, 28 March 2019.

56-year-old John Demetrius Griffin of Bodmin, Cornwall has been charged with:
•               Conspiracy to supply class A – Crack Cocaine and Heroin
•               Two charges of Arrange/facilitate the travel of another with a view to exploitation, under the Modern Slavery Act (MSA)

32-year-old Michael Rowe of Newquay, Cornwall has been charged with:
•               Conspiracy to supply class A – Crack Cocaine and Heroin

65-year-old Irene Sampson of St Dennis, Cornwall has been charged with:
•               Conspiracy to supply class A – Crack Cocaine and Heroin
•               Arrange/facilitate the travel of another with a view to exploitation, under the Modern Slavery Act (MSA)

Four further people, who have already appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on Thursday 28 February 2019 are due to appear in Truro Crown Court on Tuesday 2 April 2019.

22-year-old Amari Orgill-Nelson of Haringey, London has been charged with:
•               Conspiracy to supply class A – Crack Cocaine and Heroin
•               Conspiracy to supply class A – Heroin
•               Arrange/facilitate the travel of another with a view to exploitation, under the Modern Slavery Act (MSA)

49-year-old Darren Bruce of Wood Green, London has been charged with:
•               Conspiracy to supply class A – Crack Cocaine and Heroin
•               Conspiracy to supply class A – Heroin
•               Arrange/facilitate the travel of another with a view to exploitation, under the Modern Slavery Act (MSA)

17-year-old boy from Catford, London has been charged with:
•               Conspiracy to supply class A – Crack Cocaine and Heroin
•               Conspiracy to supply class A – Heroin

20-year-old Timon Davis-Blake of Edmonton, London has been charged with:
•               Conspiracy to supply class A – Crack Cocaine and Heroin
•               Conspiracy to supply class A – Heroin

30-year-old Connell Bruce of Haringey, London appeared at Bodmin Magistrates Court on Thursday 7 March 2019 and is due to appear in Truro Crown Court on Tuesday 2 April 2019. He has been charged with:
•              Conspiracy to supply class A – Crack Cocaine and Heroin
•               Arrange/facilitate the travel of another with a view to exploitation, under the Modern Slavery Act (MSA)
