A team of Economics students from Budehaven Community School has made it to the National final of the ICAEW BASE competition.
The competition run by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales is a National competition for 16-17-year-olds. Teams of 4 had to complete a series of online challenges involving strategic decision making, financial calculations and application of business knowledge. Students then had to submit a skype presentation in which they recommended and justified an investment opportunity for a charity organisation.
Erin, Francesca, Holly and Neve will now attend the National Final in Birmingham in June where they will compete against 47 other teams in a series of new challenges to be crowned BASE National Champions of 2019.
As part of the events in Birmingham, students will also have the opportunity to question and network with national and local businesses from a range of different economic and business fields.
To reach the National Final from such a large number of entries is a huge achievement for the team and they should be very proud of their hard work.
We wish them luck for Birmingham!
