Do you recognise this man?

Police have released an E-fit of a man that they would like to speak to in connection with a rape in Barnstaple.

Internal investigations using the image initially put forward two persons of interest who have now been eliminated. Therefore this image is now being released to the public.

The incident happened on Friday 22 June 2018 at around 1 am near to the bus station in Barnstaple.

The victim, a woman in her teens, was feeling unwell and was sat in the bus station area when the suspect walked her around to a loading bay before assaulting her.

The suspect is described as a white male, early 20s in age, clean shaven, dirty blonde hair, shaved at the sides, wearing a red and black checked shirt.

Initial investigations at the scene and CCTV enquiries proved negative.

The female victim was supported by specialist officers in North Devon and along with another witness provided the E-fit.
