Man dies in A39 crash near Arlington

Police were called to reports of a two-vehicle collision at around 10 am on Tuesday 9 July.

The incident happened on the A39 at Beccott Cross, near Arlington, Barnstaple and involved a blue Rover 25 and a black Land Rover Freelander.

The driver and front-seat passenger of the Rover were taken to North Devon District Hospital by land ambulance.

Police have since been informed that sadly, as a result of injuries sustained in the collision, the 77-year-old driver of the Rover died in hospital on Monday 15 July.

The driver of the Land Rover was uninjured.
