The weather was relatively kind to the stallholders at the Hartland Farmers’ market yesterday. It was not quite the bustling indoor event Hartland normally enjoys, but it was lovely to see people getting out and moving towards some new kind of normality, and it attracted lots of locals.
On their Facebook page, they wrote:
What a great post lockdown market we had today. Huge thanks to Dave and Sarah Blackmore-Heal for working so hard on our risk assessment & then marshalling today making sure people were socially distanced and using hand sanitiser.
Also thank you to Marcel for letting us use the Legion car park at the last minute because of the wind (it was meant to be on the playing field) Julia Boyle, Ratsy and Colin Jeffery for organising the Pavilion electric supply, tables, barrier, etc.
Also our lovely producers for coming back (several sold out – Beckland Game & Artisam).
Finally, massive thanks for everyone coming along & supporting our market, we didn’t have to tell anyone to keep their distance or not to crowd around the tables.
Well, I got a plant, and my relative bought a pork pie and venison sausages. I guess every little helps. Thanks to the organisers.
