Both carriageways of the A30 are closed after a serious multi-vehicle collision this morning at Cheriton Bishop, between Exeter and Okehampton.
Emergency services are currently still at the scene. Police, fire and ambulance were called at 7.40am today [28 August] following a collision involving six vehicles.
Among the vehicles is an HGV which has overturned and is on its side, plus a caravan.
A number of people have been injured and two people are believed seriously hurt.
The air ambulance is currently on scene.
Both carriageways are closed and are likely to remain shut for some time. Diversions are in place westbound at Fingle Glen/Pathfinder and eastbound at Woodleigh junction.
Police are advising motorists to avoid the area if possible for the time being.
