7 arrested at Plymouth for illegal entry to UK

At 7.15 am today, Devon and Cornwall Police received a report of people being found in the back of a lorry at Millbay Docks, Plymouth.

Seven people, five adults and two teenagers, have been located in a Mesguen lorry trailer which is believed to have arrived at the Plymouth port yesterday. The seven people were detained and assessed by South West Ambulance Service staff and their immediate welfare needs addressed.

Police are currently liaising with Border Force and the port authorities. Initial enquiries would indicate the trailer arrived on a Brittany Ferries vessel from Roscoff yesterday.

All seven persons have been arrested for illegally entering the UK.
