Cyclist airlifted to hospital after A39 collision near Bude

At around 3pm on Sunday 6th September, Police were called to a collision on the A39 at Box’s Shop near Bude involving a cyclist and a car.

Paramedics including an off duty surgeon administered first aid and critical care on scene and the cyclist was flown to Derriford Hospital having suffered critical and life threatening / changing injuries.

Specialist officers from the Roads Policing Strategic Alliance attended the scene and carried out extensive investigations which involved closing the road for several hours.

A number of key witnesses were identified and spoken to but police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash camera footage which might assist them in their investigations.
