Covid – it’s not over yet

As restrictions have eased, the number of people who tested positive in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in the week to 18th April has risen by 109.1%, according to government figures.

However, the number is still low (69 in the last seven days, a rise of 36).

3 deaths occurred within the last 7 days (within 28 days of a positive test) but no patients were admitted to hospital for Covid at North Devon Healthcare.

In Torridge, the people who have tested positive had risen to 7 (a 200% rise) but there have been no related deaths.

Cases in Cornwall and Devon still remain relatively low compared to many other parts of the country.
