The good news is that numbers of new Covid-19 cases in Devon dropped to turn the area blue on the interactive map, rather than purple, in the week to 30th August, 2021.
Numbers dropped to 2925, a rolling rate of 360.8 per 100,000
In Torridge, numbers dropped to 230.
Bude is still in the purple zone, but cases have dropped to 49. Cornwall as a whole saw a drop to 2523, with Newquay still the worst hit area.

Between 29 August 2021 and 4 September 2021, 2,255 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows a decrease of -33.7% compared to the previous 7 days.

1 person with coronavirus went into hospital on 29 August 2021.
Between 23 August 2021 and 29 August 2021, 12 went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows a decrease of -25.0% compared to the previous 7 days.
There were 19 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 31 August 2021.
Deaths in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly

So, things appear to be going in the right direction, after the recent rise in cases.
