Cornwall’s Covid cases rising again

Cornwall’s Covid cases have risen again as a soon-to-arrive pop-up Covid booster vaccination clinic for Bude is announced.

In the seven days to 18th November, Cornwall’s cases had risen once again, this time to 2566 (case rate of 445.9 per 100,000). In Bude, cases hit 73, a higher rate of 688.7. Poundstock & Kilkhampton reached 99, a disturbing case rate of 1,300.2, while Holsworthy, Bradworthy & Welcombe numbered 94, a case rate of 929.4. Hartland Coast dropped to 37, a case rate of 568.1.

Figures and rates are looking better in Camelford at 28 (389.3) and Crackington & Tintagel at 26 (356.8) but numbers are rising in both places.

Other hot spots in Cornwall include the Lizard at 132, a case rate of 1358.3, and Truro West at 55/601.8.

Torridge cases numbered 700, a case rate of 1,018.6. Devon as a whole has 5113 cases, a rate of 630.7.

As of 21st November, 85.6% in Bude & Stratton had received their first vaccination, with 80.4% the second dose.

There was 1 death within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on 23 November 2021.

Between 17 November 2021 and 23 November 2021, there have been 7 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test.
