Cornwall Council refuse planning permission for project at Widemouth

Pertaining to an outline plan (PA19/04899) to build 2 dwellings at agricultural land west of Stone Park, Widemouth, Bude, Cornwall Council planning officers recommended the plan was declined.

The reason given was: The proposed development lies within a straggle of development in the open countryside which is detached from any clearly definable settlement, services and facilities. The proposal does not infill a gap in an otherwise continuous built up frontage and does not qualify as infill development. The proposal represents an undesirable, unsustainable and sporadic form of development in the countryside for which no special circumstances have been demonstrated. The proposal is therefore contrary to Policies 1, 3, 7 and 21 of the Cornwall Local Plan Strategic Policies 2010 – 2030.
