It may be winter outside but it has been a time for firefighters in parts of Cornwall to tackle gorse fires.
Cornwall Fire Service reports that yesterday they received in excess of 80 calls reporting a large fire on the moor between Wadebridge and St Columb around 10 pm last night
Crews from Wadebridge, St Columb, Padstow and Bodmin attended. The fire was finally extinguished at around 1 am. Arson is suspected.
There was also a gorse fire by the A30 at Bolventor. Crews from Lostwithiel, Launceston and Liskeard attended this incident.
