Community assists with lateral flow testing at Budehaven

It was back to school today for many, much to the relief of many pupils and parents. Budehaven welcomed back some year groups today:

Date Returning to School Year Group
Monday 8 March 10, 12 & 13
Tuesday 9 March 11
Wednesday 10 March 7
Tuesday 16 March 8
Wednesday 17 March 9

Once a year group has returned and received their first COVID-19 test, they will remain in school for face to face teaching thereafter. COVID-19 testing will continue up to Thursday 25th March by which time it is hoped all students for whom consent has been given, will have received their three tests and been issued their home test kits.

Headteacher, Dominic Wilkes said:

We have completed “day one” of our Covid-19 lateral flow testing here at Budehaven, with the help of our local volunteers. We went out to ask for volunteers several weeks ago and have managed to recruit over thirty, all of whom have been amazing throughout the training, and today’s testing of Year 10, 12 and 13. All of our students have been superbly behaved, and have approached the Lateral Flow Testing with maturity. We are so pleased to have started the process of welcoming all students back to Budehaven, and can’t wait to see everyone back!

Great work from students, community members and staff working collaboratively at Budehaven.
