Child Critical After A39 Crash

Our thoughts once again go out to the victims of the A39 crash near Clovelly yesterday, as we wish them all a good recovery.

The Cornish Guardian has reported that a child involved in the collision has been transferred to Bristol. She remains in a critical condition with a depressed brain fracture. The rest of the family of four in the BMW are also all still in hospital. The boy is said to have sustained cuts and bruises. His mother has a fractured pelvis and his father has multiple fractures to his legs and feet.

The driver of the Vauxhall Astra also suffered a serious leg injury and was flown to Derriford from the scene, by air ambulance. There is no update on his condition.

The A39 was closed for seven hours yesterday following the collision. Anyone who witnessed the two-vehicle collision or saw either vehicle travelling on the A39 prior to the incident is asked to contact police on 101 or email: 101@devonandcornwall.pnn.police.uk quoting log number 322 of 31/10/15.
