On arrival, crews discovered one static caravan fully on fire. Firefighters located cylinders to the rear of the caravan. The cylinders were checked using a thermal imagining camera and were fortunately cold. Crews were then able to move them to a safe location, away from the fire.
Two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets were used to extinguish the fire. This incident is confirmed as accidental and confined.
Did you know that on average 360 fires per year occur in caravans? It’s important to remember that fire safety doesn’t stop when you leave the house.
