Can you help make Bude more accessible to all?

Active8Online is a Cornish charity which aims to empower and motivate young people, aged 14-30 years old, who have a physical disability.

They have been commissioned on behalf of Cornwall Council to carry out an Accessible Study of Bude beaches and surrounding areas. so they are looking  to create a focus group of local residents to do a walk/wheel around the area to identify the following:
1) the issues/barriers being faced at the moment
2) adaptations that could be considered to make the area more accessible to all
The area they are covering:
1) Canal access to the beach and car park,
2) Summerleaze and car park,
3) the downs,
4) Crooklets and carpark.
They are looking for a few local residents with varying access needs to support them in this work. It won’t be a large group of people. If you have an access need and would like to get involved please feel free to get in contact with John Sweeting to show your interest and to find out more.
They are looking for people with, but not restricted to:
Visual impairments
Hearing impairments
Wheelchair users
People who use mobility aids
Learning disabilities
Other health impairments
They are looking for people of all ages to be involved in this study and support staff/carers/PAs would be more than welcome to join in.
From this initial ‘walk around’ they will then share more information  to get feedback from the wider Bude community.
Bude & Stratton Town Councillors have been supportive of this project and it is hoped this could lead to real change for good.
