Busy end to May for Bude Coastguard

Bude Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked to an incident in Crackington Haven at 16:54 yesterday afternoon, along with many other rescue services, including Bude Lifeboat. No other details are available.

Earlier, they were called out to assist Boscastle Coastguard Team in an operation to rescue a dog who had gone over the edge at Beeny Cliff.

The dog was located and was barking, although not moving at that time.

As Bude team prepared to get onto the cliff edge, the word was received that the dog had started to move, and managed to scramble back up the cliff, and into the welcoming arms of its owner.

With the dog and owner safe, both teams were stood down.

Please keep your dog on a lead when near cliff edges. However, should your dog fall over the edge, never attempt to rescue them yourself. Instead, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
