Veganism has really taken off (I did Veganuary and have reduced my non-plant intake, such as using plant milks with breakfast cereal, but am not vegan before anyone kicks off) and it is great to see Bude’s first vegan fair lined up for the start of August.
Vegans attract many adverse comments and prejudice (not sure why) but as people become increasingly environmentally aware, society needs to get used to it – veganism is no longer considered ‘cranky’, but is here to stay, so time to ditch those 20th century attitudes and move on.
The fair offers free food samples, amazing speakers, delicious food, ice cream, cakes, eco products, clothing and cosmetics, fun children’s games. There is also a (environmentally-friendly one, I’m told) glitter artist, VR headsets, live music, and films.
There is also a children’s art competition. Bring your bees made from recycled materials by midday. Moo Free chocolate prize giving at 3pm!
Go along. You may be pleasantly surprised! As might I.
