The Trustees were delighted to receive several nominations this year and on Saturday the outright winner was announced as pianist/composer Thomas Marples, age 16, a pupil at Budehaven Community School. Tom received a cheque to the value of £100, with runner up Elowen Cholerton, violinist age 9, receiving a cheque for £50. All nominees received a £10 book token together with a certificate.
The Award was presented by Heather Bolitho, widow of the late John Bolitho , co-founder of the Award.
To round off the ceremony a cream tea was served to all the parents of the nominees together with their Music Teachers who had also been invited.
