In September, Budehaven Community School’s Year 10 Hospitality and Catering students
were given a very exciting opportunity. They were invited by Rupert Brendon and Peter
Gorton to take part in the Chef demonstrations at the ‘Budelicious Food Festival’ held at the
This event was led by celebrity chef Peter Gorton (Master Chef of GB) and past Guide
Michelin star winner and the Team at the Falcon Hotel.
With their chef whites pressed the students took to the stage with Peter and the Head Chef of the Falcon, Aaron Vanstone.
The students demonstrated a Chicken Stirfry, as Peter talked them through the dish before
the audience were invited to taste the final dish.
The Food Department at Budehaven were extremely proud of how confidently the students presented themselves, a testament to the skills they have learned throughout their time at the school. There was an air of excitement and nerves about taking part in the live chef demonstrations, but they did an outstanding job and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
