A group of our Year 7 pupils collated all of the donations together for delivery, so much that it almost filled the minibus. On arrival, they met the team at the food bank who helped pupils to unload and were then given a tour of the food bank operation, with a chance for some Q & A.
What became most apparently clear, and really struck a chord with the students, was that everything there was centred on kindness. The foodbank is staffed by volunteers who do not get paid for the valuable work they do, all donations are freely given, and even the utility bills are funded by the local community.
The staff at Bude Foodbank were truly grateful for all that the Budehaven community had given to help support others and wished school members a very Merry Christmas.
