Bude Foodbank Plus – pre-Christmas Update

From Bude Foodbank:

Christmas can be one of the most difficult times of the year for the families we support and is often a time that shows the big divide between those that have and those that do not.

With pressure to put food on the table, buy Christmas gifts as well as seeing an increase in winter fuel bills, this time of year can be difficult for many – and is also the UK’s highest time of the year for suicide and escalating debt issues.

Bude Foodbank Plus wants to step in at this time and has launched a Christmas Appeal, with an ambitious target of raising £20k.

Our Christmas Appeal sets out to deliver 3 key things:

– Distribution of 600 food parcels over Christmas
– Free financial advice to clients, helping lift the stress of money worries and debt over Christmas and the new year
– Counselling and advice to support adults with emotional and mental health issues

We’re excited to announce that TV Magician John Archer will be coming to The Venue in Bude on Saturday 11th December (7pm) for a fantastic show in aid of Bude Foodbank’s Christmas Appeal.

John is a popular TV figure having not only previously won ‘The Magic Circle Stage Magician of the Year’, but also performed on Britain’s Got Talent in 2019, appeared on a Jonathan Ross magic show where he  was the first man to fool Penn & Teller. John has also won a BAFTA at the children’s BAFTA Awards.

All money raised from the event will support Bude Foodbank’s Christmas Appeal where we hope to raise £20k over the festive period.
