Bude coped well with summer crowds and Covid

Bude has had a tricky summer but has largely come out of it positively. Covid numbers are now dropping, and businesses have been super-busy, not initially assisted by the pingdemic, of course.

While it is autumn, summer has made a short comeback. According to my technology, today’s temperature reached around 27 degrees in Bude at lunchtime.

I was shocked to find a parking space, which was great. On the minus side were small children uncovered, dogs being walked in their fur coats, and people turning a painful shade of scarlet burning on the beach.

With schools back this week, it seems that now is the time for older couples, and families with pre-school children to visit.

The beaches are less crowded now, and with low tide very low, there was tons of space and sand at Crooklets, Maer, Middle and Summerleaze beaches this morning.

And breathe …
