Bude Coastguard Rescue Team were paged at 13:06 yesterday, tasked to liaise with Hartland Coastguard Search and Rescue Team and the ambulance service, to search for a female with a suspected broken ankle, near Windbury Point, just west of Clovelly.
Having made her location known to emergency services via the What3Words app, the casualty was soon located by Rescue Officers and an attending paramedic.
Once made comfortable, the casualty – who remained cheerful throughout – was stretcher-carried by the team to a waiting ambulance, approximately half a mile away.
Once safely onboard, and in the care of paramedics, both Rescue Teams were stood down.
