From Bude Coastguard Team:
Bude Coastguard Rescue Team members were paged at 2pm today to Bude Sea Pool to assist Bude Lifeguards and paramedics from the SW Ambulance Service with a female casualty who had fallen and sustained multiple injuries.
With the team arriving on scene slightly in advance of the ambulance paramedics, Rescue Officers attended at the casualty’s position at the base of the Sea Pool and received a briefing as to the casualty’s current condition from the Lifeguards on scene.
Once the paramedics arrived, further emergency medical assistance was provided to the casualty at the scene.
Once stable, she was then carefully placed onto the Coastguard stretcher and, with assistance from the Lifeguards, carried to the top of the Sea Pool and onto the downs, where team members kept her warm until the ambulance arrived. The casualty was then carefully transferred into the ambulance and taken onward to hospital.
Well done to all concerned in helping this casualty.
