From Bude Coastguard Facebook page:
Bude Coastguard Rescue Team was paged at 10:37 yesterday morning to the report of a man stuck about 20ft up the relatively unthreatening slope on the north side of Chapel Rock, having attempted to climb to retrieve a personal item. Hartland Coastguard Search and Rescue Team was also paged to provide assistance if a rope rescue was required.
As the team mustered at the station, further information was received that Summerleaze Lifeguards were in attendance and had secured the casualty from any possible accidental fall.
Once on scene, Bude CRT assisted the Lifeguards as the gentleman made his way safely to the ground, whereupon the team again made sure he did not require any medical attention. Satisfied that he was ok, the team left the scene and returned to the station.
Once again we’d like to praise the quick reactions and professional conduct shown by the Bude Lifeguards who attended the scene.
