Bude Canal Prank Endangers Life
Thanks to Councillor Paula Dolphin for drawing this issue to my attention. It seems that vital safety lifebuoys are being removed from the canal around Bude.
Paula says: Youngsters might think it is fun to remove the rings from the canal, but this is an important safety item and the taxpayers are having to pay for the ring to be replaced. If anyone sees this item being taken from the canal please report it at the One Stop Shop.
A Cormac representative says: I have had five rings removed in two weeks. They are extremely expensive to replace, costing the tax payer money. See the notice for contact details for the Council.

What is the history of these buildings at Crooklets?
Please can you ask on Your local history page, what the history is of these two buildings at Crooklets? I believe the one to the far left is called Ocean House. The reason I’m interested is because the old Penarvor Hotel has sadly been demolished next door.
