Lots of thanks to give out after attending another successful Bude Business Network meeting yesterday. Debbie Cousins at Bude Works organises theses events in association with Bude Jobcentre Plus’s Lynn Colwill.
Yesterday’s venue was provided by Urchins Bistro, owned by the lovely Gary and Andrew, and I was very impressed to get my own little pot of tea, with milk jug. A lovely touch!
People I managed to speak to yesterday included John and Chris Constable of CCF Engraving (they are getting up to their busy period, so any orders, get them in), Marisa Giles and Suzanne Lawson, from Crest Accountants in Bude, two bubbly ladies who dispel the myth/stereotype of the ‘dull accountant’ , Sandra Howell from Dartmoor View Holiday Lodges, Jackie from Jackie’s cakes (tasted her lemon and her carrot cake – scrumptious – no website, unfortunately, but hope to interview her soon), Kim Gouldson from Morwenna Photography (she who can make a silk’s purse out of a sow’s ear – my photoshoot!) Sue Read, whose wonderful exhibition is still going at the Castle but not for long, and Trev Plant, of the famous Trev’s Taxis. Lovely Annie Creo from Shorebreak Bed & Breakfast was also there. There were a few others I never managed to get round to – apologies.
These networking meetings have finished now for the summer but I have found them incredibly useful to catch up with people and find out what is happening, so many thanks to all involved.
