Bude business defeated by Coronavirus

Such very sad news from Aspire Leisure at Ivyleaf for those who didn’t see it on social media.

Yesterday, Katie and Nathan announced:

It is with heavy hearts that we make this announcement today.

Despite going from strength to strength over the past two years, with all of your support, it became evident yesterday that the economic effects of the pandemic have hit us so hard that it will be impossible for our businesses to recover. Up until this point we had hoped for a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel; however, it has come to pass that it is too dim and too far out of reach.

We are currently putting the wheels in motion to cease trading and will be terminating our lease on the property as soon as is appropriate. All facets of our businesses will be closing which unfortunately includes immediate and permanent closure of the gym, sports therapy and hairdressing.

However, we will stay in contact with you all regarding any information on the future of the golf course, driving range and campsite.

We will continue to maintain the golf course for play up until the date we leave, by which time I’m certain that announcements will be made regarding the future.

We are very sorry that we will not be sharing any more time with you guys. We’ve loved our spell at Ivyleaf and despite the huge amount of effort and hard work we’ve put in, it’s always been an absolute pleasure and felt like more of a lifestyle, rather than just a job.

Here’s hoping for a brighter future.
