Cassie Cannon, local to Bude, launched her new floristry business Bude Blooms, last year.
Cassie has a background in gardening and horticulture. Seven years ago, she started a gardening business Cassie’s Garden Maintenance, and during that time she also gained her RHS qualifications.
Over those years, she grew countless flowers for cutting, from fragrant narcissi in spring, bright cosmos and dahlias in summer, right through to holly and ivy at Christmas.
“You’ll never see my windowsill bare!” says Cassie.
Receiving compliments for her arrangements gave her the confidence to enter local shows, and after winning several prizes, she began offering services for sympathy flowers, event arrangements, and even wedding floristry.
After spending some time improving her skills further at the Tallulah Rose Flower School in 2017, she launched Bude Blooms, offering a refreshing new take on floristry, her style unique to other florists in Bude.
“I work with the natural flow of the flowers, that give my arrangements a beautifully wild touch. I would describe my style as wild, natural, and fun – that’s what I’m about.”
“Every design I create is individual and unique to the client, made especially with them in mind.”
The flowers she uses for her arrangements are responsibly sourced, and many are grown right here in Bude, or from wider Cornwall. Meaning that when you support Bude Blooms, you truly are supporting local.
Cassie is keen to protect the environment, and her creations reflect her ethos, “I strive to produce as little waste as possible, by using repurposed, reusable, and recycled materials.”
“Bude Blooms is an independent, conscientious and sustainable business you can trust.”
