Our viewing figures for January 2020 were 57,955 (local part of the site only included in the stats).
This compares to 25,986 in 2019 and 22,138 in 2018. Average daily views (rounded up) were 1870. Our busiest day was January 10th when we had 7558 views.
More than doubling our views is great news for our lovely sponsoring advertisers (Rob, btw, has quietly been tweaking your ads behind the scenes so they receive greater prominence without irritating people through overload).
The downside of those figures is that bad news always brings more views, and so January was obviously not a great month for many people. Key were the sad death of Ricky Gamage, and the funeral of the Queen of Bude, Margaret Frost. Nonetheless, other topics also got some high viewing figures.
So, a few thanks are in order:
To everyone who reads and supports this page and our social media, and especially our sponsoring advertisers who help keep things going. You are very special people. New sponsors always welcome.
To Rob Wilcox and Dean Wronowski for their unerring support on the IT side. If you see them, feel free to say hello, say thanks, or buy them a coffee or a beer because they really do offer all their work on Bude & Beyond to the community for free.
To all those who send in information – it really does help. Strange as it may seem, I don’t spend all my life checking everyone’s social media!
Finally to me for all the hours I put in – must count them up one day – but if I didn’t enjoy it, I wouldn’t do it. If you fancy helping, trying your hand at writing, then please do because we need greater diversity and input.
