British Heart Foundation charity walk

In early April, the Bude and Stratton branch of the British Heart Foundation (BHF) held their annual sponsored coastal walk. The walk started at the castle where 16 eager walkers walked the Canal – Coastal footpath of almost seven miles, while five of the walkers did the shorter walk of 3 miles. At the end, everyone met up at the starting point, the Castle and had a well-earned lunch or coffee at the Limelight café there. The total amount raised was just under £200. The Bude and Stratton Branch would like to thank the Limelight café for letting them use their facilities.

On the 7th May the Bude and Stratton Branch of the BHF had their annual general meeting and among the topics discussed were the change of the annual walk from October to April. The committee felt that this was the right thing to do and it was good to see the countryside at a different time of year. The total amount raised for the year was an amazing £15,108.04 taken from a combination of the annual events and coffees mornings that the Bude & Stratton Branch held throughout the year as well as personal donations and legacies.

The next few events in the coming months are the stalls and games on the Castle grounds for the Carnival as well as various collection days in Morrisons.
