Emergency services were called to the A30 near Launceston at around 5.20am today following reports of the body of a man located on the eastbound carriageway. Very sadly, the man has been confirmed deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
Lane 1 of the A30 Westbound has now been re-opened. All other closures are expected to remain in place for the time being while emergency services are in attendance.
Police enquiries remain ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the death of the man.
The A30 at Launceston remains closed in both directions whilst emergency services remain at the scene and is expected to be closed for a number of hours.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area and to use diversions where possible and to expect significant travel disruption and delays.
