From Bude & Stratton Town Council:
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Bude Christmas Fayre, held across the Parkhouse
Centre and The Castle, from 11am – 4pm on the Sunday 1st December. Free entry.
It will be the biggest fayre to date with a record number of over 56 stalls, featuring some familiar
names like Swannacott Manor Meats, Holdcroft Lighting, Usborne Books, Sweet P and Cornish Sea Gifts, to name just a few.
Carolyn Seager, Event Organiser says: “With such a diverse mix of businesses at this year’s fayre,
shoppers can expect a huge range of products to browse so you’re sure to find some special and
unique Christmas gifts.”
The Parkhouse Centre will be the marketplace hub and will host all the stalls. We’ll also have live
entertainment throughout the day, kicking off with a spectacular performance from local dance
group URBN StreetZ. DJ Dave King will also be on stage playing festive songs, and local musician
Aidan B will be singing and taking requests.
The Castle on the other hand, will be focused on family fun. The Willoughby Gallery will be home to Santa and his grotto from 12pm – 2pm with free Christmas entertainment, workshops and
storytelling for children in the Blanchminster Room and Studio from 11am-4pm. These include our
very own in-house magician, Adrian Ward, and The Castle face-painters. Down in the studio there
will be free pottery workshops and author Ellie Jackson, who champions environmental and wildlife
issues in her stories, will be up in the Blanchminster, storytelling. Furthermore, there will be
interactive singing workshops, including a ‘Sing and Sign’ singalong for children with hearing
“There is no cost to meet Santa, who will be giving out free goodies to children, including wooden
Christmas tree decorations that they can then sit and colour in. Parents will have a lasting keepsake to hang on their Christmas tree year after year,” says Carolyn. She continues, “We’d also like to say big thank you to Moo-Free who have generously offered their delicious organic vegan chocolate to give out to children on the day.”
Children are invited to dress to the nines in our Christmas Fancy Dress Competition, the winner of
which will be given a special prize by Father Christmas at 2pm.
Festive food and drink will be available at both the Parkhouse Centre and The Castle all day.
